About the Book:
The book will measure 8.25 x 10 inches and will be full color and perfect bound. I’m still organizing and putting the PDF file together but it will have between 55 and 65 pages of art (it currently is at exactly 60 pages but some stuff may be added or removed). The book will feature mostly artwork I have posted on my tumblr but there is currently 10 pages of artwork that I have never posted.

There’s a certain charm to leaving things unforgivingly vague… but I put too much thought into this scene not to break it down.

25-year-old Ramsey Orta, the man who filmed Eric Garner’s death is going to jail to serve a 4-year sentence.
Orta says that after filming Garner’s death he was repeatedly harassed and targeted by police and arrested 8 times in a span of 2 years.
The man who killed Eric Garner, Daniel Pantaleo, on the other hand got a 15% pay rise since the shooting of Eric.
That’s American criminal justice system for ya..

This is part of what we’re talking about when we discuss the ways the criminal injustice system is designed to tear apart nonwhite families, how it’s held over our heads. He got out of ‘his place’ and stood up against white supremacy and is now being punished for it, by ripping his family apart and trying to destroy his life. This man did right and will now be separated from the real world and his family for four years–and that’s if they play everything by the books and he makes it out at the end of those four years.
Where were the Good Cops protecting him from harassment? When did the Good Cops report their partners and friends for targeting a citizen for a personal vendetta? Where are the Good Cops when the rest of the cops are flagrantly violating citizens’ rights?
Today the Department of Awesomely Good Deeds salutes Mustafa Efe, Imam at the Mahmud Hüdayi Mosque in the historical Üsküdar district of Istanbul, Turkey. In addition to his religious and community leadership work, Efe is a devoted animal lover with a great big heart. Last year he began welcoming the city’s numerous stray cats and their kittens into his mosque. Efe refers to his feline visitors as “guests” and wants them to find safety and warmth within the walls of his historic mosque, particularly during the cold winter months.
One mama cat was observed bringing her newborn kittens into the mosque one by one. She carried them in her mouth up the stairs and over to the safety of the mosque’s pulpit, where she proceeded to groom and feed them:
